Service Alert – 9/1/18

SERVICE ALERT – Labor Day Weekend, Fri. 8/31 –  Mon. 9/3

Please be advised that this weekend (Labor Day weekend), we anticipate increased ridership across all NYC Ferry routes, and we ask that riders plan accordingly as wait times may be longer than usual. In addition, on Monday, September 3 (Labor Day), all ferry routes will operate on a weekend schedule (including no service on the Midtown Shuttle Bus).

Lastly, the Electric Zoo festival will take place on Randall’s Island throughout the weekend starting tomorrow, Friday, August 31 through Sunday, September 2. Due to an increase in concert attendees traveling to and from the festival via a privately run ferry service from the E. 34th Street ferry terminal, we anticipate larger than normal crowds. Please be advised that the NYC Ferry East River, Soundview, Astoria, and the Lower East Side routes are subject to potential delays. We encourage riders to purchase tickets in advance via the NYC Ferry app and NYC Ferry representatives will be posted at the landing.

Any updates will be shared on ferry.nyc, as well as the NYC Ferry app.

We appreciate your patience. Hoping you have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.

Service Alert – Governors Island

As you know, NYC Ferry has been operating weekend service to Governors Island through a dedicated shuttle between Pier 11/Wall Street and Yankee Pier due to ongoing maintenance. We understand the inconvenience this has posed for some of our riders, and are working closely with the Trust For Governor’s Island to expedite the work as soon as possible.

However, due to prolonged maintenance work, the NYC Ferry shuttle service will continue for the remainder of our summer season. All riders wishing to visit the Island will need to transfer to the ferry shuttle at Pier 11/Wall Street (at Slip D) that will take them directly to Yankee Pier on Governors Island. While the ferry shuttle does not run on a set schedule, it will pick up and drop off approximately every 30 minutes.

All riders are required to show a valid NYCF app or paper ticket, or a transfer ticket in order to board the shuttle. To depart the island using the NYC Ferry shuttle to Pier 11/Wall Street, riders must be in the departure line with a valid NYC Ferry ticket at Yankee Pier by 6:00 PM. After that time, riders will be directed to take either the Governors Island ferry service to Pier 6 in Brooklyn or to the Battery Maritime Building in Lower Manhattan.

If you have any questions, please find a uniformed NYC Ferry crew member who will be available to assist.

Thank you for riding with NYC Ferry. We hope you enjoy the rest of the summer season with us. Have a happy and safe weekend.

SERVICE ALERT – Hunters Point South Landing Temporarily Closed, Service Redirected to Long Island City Stop

Following recent repairs to the Hunter’s Point South landing gangway, a tidal shift on the East River caused the barge to stick onto the landing’s piles. As such, service to the Hunters Point South landing will remain temporarily closed out of an abundance of caution. We’re working around the clock to resolve the issue and reopen the landing as soon as possible.

In the brief interim, all ferry service on the East River route will bypass Hunters Point South in both directions, and service will be re-routed to the Long Island City ferry landing at Gantry State Plaza Park.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to reopen the landing.
