Complete NYC Ferry Back-to-School BINGO & Win Big This School Year
NextThe 2025-2026 school year is almost here, and as summer comes to a close, NYC Ferry is offering local families and high school students the opportunity to save on their ferry commute and the chance to win prizes at the start of the new school year. Beginning on Friday, August 15th and running until Tuesday, September 30th, New York City high school students who register for the NYC Ferry Student Discount Program will have the chance to win select prizes by completing NYC Ferry Back-to-School BINGO!
Students can complete their Back-to-School BINGO card by capturing photos from across NYC Ferry landings and routes – items like taking a photo of fan favorite NYC Ferry vessels, taking a photo of an NYC Ferry at select landings, and more! To enter for a chance to win prizes, students must collect a complete BINGO card row of five (5) items vertically, horizontally, or diagonally and submit them using the hashtag #NYCFstudentdiscount in a single social media post.
Prize winners will be selected at random from submitted social media posts with completed BINGO cards received by September 30th. Prizes include back-to-school supplies, NYC Ferry-branded SWAG, Yankees tickets, and more!

All paths to winning NYC Ferry Back-to-School BINGO require registering for the NYC Ferry Student Discount Program. The NYC Ferry Student Discount Program, which is in addition to discounted tickets available to eligible and approved seniors, people with disabilities, and Fair Fares NYC participants, offers all NYC high school students the opportunity to purchase $1.45 discounted NYC Ferry tickets for travel to and from school throughout the school year. Starting Friday, August 1, 2025, eligible high school students can access their 2025–2026 discount codes in their NYC Schools Account (NYCSA). Students will be able to purchase 2025-2026 student discount tickets with the 2025-2026 discount codes starting September 1, 2025.
To enroll in the NYC Ferry Student Discount Program, parents/guardians of eligible students must log into or create a NYC Student Account (NYCSA).
The NYCSA portal is available for eligible parents/guardians to view information related to the child, such as transportation services provided. For information on how to create a NYCSA, visit the NYC Schools website: schools.nyc/NYCSA or reach out to your child’s school.
Parents/guardians of NYC nonpublic and charter high school students can create a NYCSA and should reach out to their child’s school for NYCSA access information, including how they can obtain a NYC Student ID# and NYC Schools Account Creation Code (ACC).
Within the NYCSA portal, navigate to the “transportation” tab at the top of the webpage. If the student is eligible, there should be a pop up with the NYC Ferry logo with a button to “request discount code.” Discount Codes can only be applied once within one NYC Ferry account and cannot be applied to both the App for mobile discount tickets and on the website for paper discount tickets.
There are two ways to use the discount code to purchase discounted tickets:
- If you would like to purchase tickets in the NYC Ferry App, apply the unique ferry discount code assigned to your student in the NYC Ferry Promo Code tab in the App.
- If you would like to purchase paper tickets at the Wall St./Pier 11 ticketing window, enter the unique ferry discount code assigned to your student in the paper ticket application, available online below or at the Wall St./Pier 11 Ticketing window.
Please note that:
– Student Discount Tickets are only valid for use on weekdays.
– All Student Codes will expire at the end of August.
– Students must re-enroll in the program each year with new codes.
