Beginning November 2, 2026, NYC Ferry service to and from Governors Island will relocate from Yankee Pier to Pier 101 on the north side of the island while Yankee Pier is closed for a long-term construction project.

Pier 101 uses a portable ramp that may have a steep transition in certain tidal conditions and be challenging for some wheelchair users. Alternative accessible transportation to and from Governors Island is available via the Governors Island Manhattan Ferry, which operates service every day between Soissons Landing and the Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street.
