Piers packed with tourists forced to wait for a ride on the city’s new ferry service over Memorial Day weekend was a sign of success to Mayor de Blasio. De Blasio, who announced the launch of a south Brooklyn route on Wednesday, said it was a “blessing” that the ferry is so popular, even though there aren’t enough boats to carry everybody waiting for a trip.
